School-Based Services

Our school-based services are designed to support students, families, and educational teams in creating meaningful and effective learning experiences. We offer comprehensive assessments, targeted interventions, and collaborative guidance to address individual, classroom, and staff support needs. Our approach is rooted in neuro-affirming practices, prioritizing confidence-building, promoting autonomy, reducing barriers, facilitating access, and fostering success.

  • The Learning Owl specializes in individual educational evaluations (IEEs) that assess student needs and provide individualized recommendations to reduce barriers and increase equitable access to learning for neurodivergent students. These comprehensive evaluations address critical areas essential for neurodivergent learners, including visual processing, motor skills, executive function, sensory processing, and self-regulation.

Neurodivergence represents variations and differences in nervous system functioning, which requires a holistic, informed approach that traditional evaluations can sometimes miss. We invest significant time in understanding the whole child, ensuring our evaluations are thorough and tailored to each student. Our evaluations go beyond the scope of standard methods by considering how students uniquely process information, interact with their environment, and regulate their needs.

IEEs are individualized, with thorough assessments that include a detailed review of records, interviews and questionnaires with parents, teachers, and service providers, as well as educational observations and comprehensive student assessments tailored to neurodivergent learners. We also provide and review a detailed report that includes actionable recommendations.
